americanhistory.si.edu Redesigns

Oversaw two major redesigns of flagship Smithsonian website, americanhistory.si.edu. The first redesign (2003-2005) brought the museum into the 21st century, adding robust online collections database capabilities and a content management system. The second redesign (begun in 2011) revamped the user experience, added additional tools for content management such as dynamic online exhibitions, and overhauled the backend into a Drupal-based system for greater integration with other systems and increased flexibility. In addition to managing contracts and leading internal project teams, I was also responsible for daily editorial oversight of the website, which received more than 16M annual visits.
